NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced today at his Super Bowl news conference that the NFL Network will be expanding its primetime coverage of “Thursday Night Football” to 13 games in 2012.

Previously, NFL Network aired eight “Thursday Night Football” games.

The change means that every team in the league will have at least one game of the 2012 season in primetime. Also, every team will play a Thursday night game following a Sunday game.

The 2012 schedule will be announced in the spring.
