John Abraham’s first foray into free agency was an interesting one. There were plenty of reports, rumors and hearsay, as there usually is during this time of year, but only a handful of people directly involved in the negotiations really knew what was going on.

I won’t go into too much detail about the story because I really want you to head over to Yahoo! and read it in its entirety, but to kick you in the rear to send you there, Sean Jensen wrote a great piece last week about Abraham’s decision and what all went into it.

Again, go read it, but Jensen reports that there was more dangled in front of Abraham from other organizations, but he chose to remain in Atlanta because of his family and love of the Falcons.

Who says loyalty doesn’t exist in pro sports anymore?

And why are you still reading me? Go read Jensen’s story.
