The Masters got underway today, and personally, it’s my favorite golf event of the year. I know I’m not alone with that. There’s just something about Augusta National and this time of year.

So perhaps it’s no surprise that the allure of the Masters and Augusta National attracted quarterback Matt Ryan this week, as he spent some time serving as Stewart Cink’s caddy for the Par-3 Contest on Wednesday, the AJC’s Chris Vivlamore reports.

According to Vivlamore, Ryan — an avid golfer himself — received a call from Cink asking if Ryan would be interested in the one-day gig.

“I said ‘Are you crazy? Would I be willing to do it? Of course I’ll do it,’ ” Ryan said he told Cink over the phone.

Ryan even got a chance to take one of Cink’s tee shots during the casual and loose Par-3 Contest.
