Denied by Pres, Ovie Meets First Pooch

It’s not every day when the Falcons get a chance to visit the White House. In fact, that honor is usually reserved for one team holding the Lombardi Trophy at the end of each season — an honor the Falcons are certainly trying to earn.

But every once in a while, one of the players on the roster sneaks past the Secret Service and gets up close and personal with the First Family. Fullback Ovie Mughelli had the opportunity this past weekend as he attended the annual Easter Egg Roll at the White House, he tweeted.

Of course, Mughelli wanted to get a chance to meet President Barack Obama, but that didn’t quite happen:

That’s right. The Commander in Chief may have scooted before Mughelli could get a few moments with him, but the First Pooch — Bo Obama — was more than happy to grant the Falcons fullback a photo opportunity on the White House lawn.
