The Atlanta Falcons have so far been represented pretty well on NFL Network’s list of the Top 100 Players of 2012, despite some question marks about where they have been ranked among the rest of the NFL’s best.
Michael Turner was the first Falcon on the list, coming in at No. 88. Then last week, Roddy White was introduced to the list at No. 65 — a 41-slot drop from where he was ranked the previous year.
At 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday night, NFL Network will reveal another Falcon on the list between Nos. 60-51, and while we don’t know who the player is, we do know that he plays on the offensive side of the football. The prime candidates for this latest spot are wide receiver Julio Jones, tight end Tony Gonzalez and quarterback Matt Ryan.
On the list of Top 100 Players of 2011, Ryan came in at No. 52 and Gonzalez at No. 46. Obviously, Jones wasn’t on the list because he was a rookie.
Let us know your thoughts heading into Wednesday.
