Quarterback Matt Ryan may have only been in the Falcons’ first preseason game for a short time, but everything about his presence Thursday night spells exciting things for the future of the first-team offense when he’s in control.

Ryan played just more than a quarter and finished 9-of-13 for 155 yards and a touchdown with a quarterback rating of 100.3. His only blemish on the night was an interception deep in his own end, but the Ravens failed to turn it into points.

“That’s just poor play in the red zone. That’s something I have to be better at and can’t take points off the board,” Ryan said. “But I’m just happy to see guys being on the same page. We’ve worked hard this offseason to really work on route adjustments, offensive line calls and different protection calls. Tonight, we were pretty in sync so it’s a good start for us.”
