William Moore Gets Official Day in Hometown

It’s been a great year for William Moore.

He’s part of one of the top safety tandems in the league. He’s taken his prolific rap career to another level by always being ready. Now, he’s an recipient of an official day named in his honor.

Moore announced from his Twitter account (@WillyMo_25) Tuesday that his hometown of Hayti, Mo., has officially named Oct. 2, 2012 “William Moore Day.” His small hometown (pronounced Hay-Tie) of about 2,900 people is located in southeast Missouri and is also the home of former NFL running back Lew Carpenter, Oscar nominated Hollywood writer Wendell Mayes and Mildred Pulliam Whitehorn, a singer in the 1970s who recorded under the name Veda Brown.
