Tight end Tony Gonzalez and his charitable foundation, Shadow Buddies, will be featured on Friday morning’s Today Show on NBC at 9:45 a.m. ET.

The Today Show is profiling Gonzalez for the work he does away from the field with the foundation. Check your local listings for viewing the Today Show.

The Shadow Buddies Foundation was created to provide emotional support through education for children going through illness, disabilities or medical treatments. Shadow Buddies are condition-specific dolls that are designed to be friends for children who are seriously ill or mentally challenged. They provide comfort and a hands-on way for doctors to explain diagnoses and treatments in terms children can understand.
