Falcons fans may know practice squad linebacker Pat Schiller as the quiet, emotionless guy in the back of D-Block who doesn’t move and isn’t allowed to talk.
But there’s plenty more to know about Schiller, who has experienced every emotion available during his trip to this point in his career.
New York Times Magazine featured Schiller extensively in an article this week that details his journey from late-round projection to undrafted free agent to Falcons practice squad member. Schiller’s journey is much more typical in the NFL than the star top-draft picks we hear so much more about.
The article, written by Schiller’s uncle Charles Siebert, goes very, very in-depth about Schiller’s path and everything he experienced throughout camp. A great read if you get some time.
