Short Week Looms for Falcons

There is no such thing as the 24-hour rule this week. The Falcons will be right back to work before that time is up.

Hosting the Saints on Thursday Night Football on NFL Network, the Falcons have a very limited amount of time to get ready for the team that handed them their only loss so far in 2012.

Securing a win Sunday was big for those preparations, but they can’t enjoy it as they’ll treat the week as somewhat of a mish-mash of their usual routine with Monday being more like a Wednesday.

“It’s big to get any football game, especially in your division. This was a big football game for us,” cornerback Dunta Robinson said. “We wanted to win this game. It’s a short turnaround. Hopefully, everybody’s pretty healthy. We’ll come in focused this week. Let’s have a good week of practice and let’s go get win No. 11.”

Robinson, Asante Samuel and Corey Peters all left the game with injuries, but all ended up returning. Samuel seemed to be injured on the game’s final play, but walked off of his own volition.

“I think everybody will get their rest. We’ll have ourselves prepared,” QB Matt Ryan said. “We played them a couple of weeks ago, so they’re still fresh in our minds. We’ll just try to get as much rest as we can so we’re fresh Thursday night.”
