Falcons fans may still be scratching their heads over the Falcons only having three players selected to the Pro Bowl despite owning the NFL’s best record, but there’s some solace to take from ESPN.com NFC South blogger Pat Yasinskas’ All-NFC South team.

Here’s the thing: Few people know the NFC South like Yasinskas, so there’s lots of credibility in his selections. Plus, he’s got the Falcons very heavily represented on his all-division team, which certainly makes it worthy to point out here.

Let’s start with Yasinskas’ MVP selection, and it should come as no surprise that it’s quarterback Matt Ryan, as Yasinksas wrote:

“But the most impressive thing about Ryan’s season might be the 13 wins he already has led the Falcons to. It all has come in a season in which the Falcons have overhauled their offense to make the passing game a priority.”

Two highlights: The Falcons have 14 players represented on the team, more than any other division team and while Falcons defenders may have been snubbed at the Pro Bowl, six help make up Yasinksas’ All-NFC South defense.
