Notre Dame TE Tyler Eifert takes over sole possession of the majority pick this week
There were very few updates given to the mock drafts in the past week, therefore there aren’t many changes in this week’s Mock Monitor.
The only big difference from last week is that we now have one majority pick, and that’s Notre Dame tight end Tyler Eifert. He slipped into the top spot on his own, after being tied with Stanford tight end Zach Ertz last week, due to an update from ESPN.com NFL Draft guru Mel Kiper Jr., who changed his Falcons pick from SMU defensive end Margus Hunt to Eifert.
Kiper’s ESPN.com counterpart, Todd McShay, also updated his mock, but stuck with Ertz for the Falcons at No. 30.
Bleacher Report’s Scott Carasik brings Kansas State linebacker Arthur Brown into the Mock Monitor, while Purdue DT Kawann Short, North Carolina OG Jonathan Cooper, Florida State CB Xavier Rhodes and Texas DE Alex Okafor join him as prospects only receiving one selection to the Falcons.
Mock Monitor newcomer, National Football Post, adds another new name to the mix as Russ Lande has the Falcons going with Alabama RB Eddie Lacy.
After two weeks, tight ends have pulled in 13 selections while the next closest position, defensive end, has been projected to the Falcons six times.
