From Pro Bowls to All-Pros, we’ve got plenty of lists that celebrate the very best — or at least the most popular — in the NFL. But credit USA Today for its annual All-Joe Team, that celebrates the nobodies of the NFL who make a huge impact on their teams without earning the glory of their Pro Bowl and All-Pro counterparts.

The All-Joe team — which has been in existence since 1992, named to honor 14-year NFL veteran defensive tackle Joe Phillips, whose impact on the Kansas City Chiefs largely went unsung — was released this morning and Falcons left tackle Sam Baker was named one of the best Joes of 2012 at the tackle position.

Wrote USA Today’s Nate Davis:

Atlanta used a pair of 2008 first-round picks on Matt Ryan and Baker, who was supposed to protect the quarterback. But chronic back injuries and ineffectiveness frequently landed the left tackle on the bench in 2011 before he rebounded nicely last season, which also happened to be Ryan’s best.

Baker certainly had a fantastic 2012 campaign and if stats were kept for offensive linemen, I’m sure they’d bore that out. But Sam Baker doesn’t need no stinkin’ stats.

Would would be the most likely other candidate you think should be added to the All-Joe team?
