Mock Monitor 6.0

With the free agency period set to kick off today, and plenty of teams making moves beforehand, you could see this week’s Mock Monitor get turned on its head rather quickly.

Still, we’ll take a look at who the mock drafts around the Web have the Falcons taking with the No. 30 overall pick.

This week’s majority pick is Stanford tight end Zach Ertz, who earns himself four appearances on mock drafts this week with the Falcons. But we’re also starting to see more of the defensive end names become associated with the Falcons after releasing John Abraham within the past two weeks.

Mel Kiper Jr. has the Falcons going with Florida State’s Bjoern Werner, who seems to have been all over the boards lately, as we’ve seen him as high as No. 2 overall. Kiper thinks Werner falls here and the Falcons will swoop in to get him.

Cornellius “Tank” Carradine is another Florida State defensive end some mocks have the Falcons selecting. On the offensive side, Alabama RB Eddie Lacy is earning more favor, picking up a selection from NFL.com’s Bucky Brooks.
