Oregon OL Kyle Long makes his first appearance on the Mock Monitor this week.

For the first time in the 10 weeks we’ve kept track of who the mocks have the Falcons taking in 2013, the majority pick is someone who’s not a tight end.

With Tyler Eifert and Zach Ertz commanding most of the selections since February, Washington cornerback Desmond Trufant took over the majority pick this week, earning picks from NFL.com’s Charley Casserly, Bleacher Report’s Scott Carasik, WalterFootball.com and USA Today’s Tony Pauldine. SI.com’s Don Banks had Trufant in his previous mock but changed to Florida State DE Cornellius “Tank” Carradine this week.

Eifert and Ertz were still popular selections this week, earning three and two, respectively, but the mocks continued their shift to the defensive side in our 10.0 version of the Mock Monitor.

Last week’s release of right tackle Tyson Clabo only caused one change among the mocks, perhaps the biggest — that one being ESPN.com Mel Kiper Jr.’s mock. Kiper has the Falcons taking Oregon OL Kyle Long with the No. 30 pick overall.
