Falcons coaches were able to get a second look at fourth-round tight end Levine Toilolo this week as the rookie returned to Flowery Branch after completing his academic obligations at Stanford.

Toilolo, who along with first-round pick Desmond Trufant missed most of voluntary offseason training activities to finish his degree, got to the Falcons’ headquarters in Flowery Branch on Wednesday and worked the rest of the week with his new team.

“I think he left off from his rookie minicamp,” head coach Mike Smith said of Toilolo, who participated in the Falcons’ rookie minicamp the weekend after the NFL Draft. “I think you can see that he creates some issues with his size, especially there in the red zone. We look forward to seeing him compete next week in our minicamp, where… everybody will be here.”

The 6-foot-8 Toilolo headed back to Stanford after Friday morning’s OTA session so he can participate in his school’s graduation ceremony Saturday, but he’ll be back in time for minicamp, which starts Tuesday.
