Players do a lot of different things during the down time in the weeks leading up to training camp, including supporting causes important to them.

Last year, guard Justin Blalock partnered with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra to become an advocate for music education, and the partnership is continuing as he’ll make an appearance at the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s Side-by-Side concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

According to the ASO website, “student musicians from the Atlanta area, including members of the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra (ASYO) and Talent Development Program (TDP), will perform alongside members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra at the annual Side-By-Side Concert. Staff Conductor Jere Flint will lead the combined orchestra in a program featuring John Williams’ Superman March, selections from Stravinsky’s The Firebird, and more. Atlanta Falcons Offensive Guard Justin Blalock — an advocate for the ASO’s music education efforts — will make a special appearance.”

The concert will be held at Atlanta Symphony Hall and tickets are just $5. Click here to purchase tickets or click here to learn more about Blalock’s involvement with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
