The Falcons on Monday night released their first unofficial depth chart of the preseason, giving fans an idea of who may be in the lead in position battles as the team heads into its first exhibition game Thursday night against Cincinnati.

Of note:

  • The starting offensive line, according to the depth chart, would be (from left tackle to right tackle): Sam Baker, Justin Blalock, Peter Konz, Garrett Reynolds and Mike Johnson. This isn’t much of a surprise since Konz and Johnson have gotten most of the first-team snaps in camp.
  • WR Drew Davis is ahead of Kevin Cone in the race for No. 4 and 5 wideouts.
  • TE Chase Coffman is leading rookie TE Levine Toilolo to back up Tony Gonzalez.
  • Cliff Matthews has gained some publicity because of his cross-training at defensive tackle, but he’s listed as the defensive end backup to Kroy Biermann, opposite Osi Umenyiora.
  • A name you haven’t heard much at all, undrafted rookie linebacker Nick Clancy out of Boston College, is backing up Stephen Nicholas at outside linebacker.
  • Corey Peters looks to be edging in front of Peria Jerry for the starting DT spot next to Jonathan Babineaux.
  • Desmond Trufant has the lead in the right cornerback position battle as he’s listed as the starter opposite Asante Samuel. Fellow rookie Robert Alford is listed as Samuel’s backup. Robert McClain looks to be at the No. 3 CB position.
  • So far, things haven’t changed in the return game with Jacquizz Rodgers still listed as handling the kick return duties with Dominique Franks and Harry Douglas at punt returner.
