Head coach Mike Smith reiterated Wednesday as he gave his first injury report of the regular season that, barring any setbacks in his return, wide receiver Roddy White is expected to be available to play Sunday’s season opener at New Orleans.

White was limited in practice Wednesday, along with linebacker Stephen Nicholas and cornerback Asante Samuel. Kicker Matt Bryant was a full participant.

“We had an opportunity to work (White) in certain areas that we wanted to take a look at,” Smith said after Wednesday’s practice. “Again, with all of our guys that were limited today, it’s the hopes that they’ll not have any ill effects, any setbacks from their workload today and that we’ll be able to increase it (Thursday).”
