The Falcons fell to the Saints 23-17 on Sunday, thus taking a bit of a tumble down the power rankings. But all is not lost as plenty of experts believe the Falcons will bounce back. Here’s our sampling of power rankings from around the Web this week:

Week 2

Outlet This Week’s Rank Last Week’s Rank Comments
NFL.com 8 4 “That last set of downs is going to sit with fans awhile, just like the crucial four downs of last year’s loss in New Orleans did. On Sunday, Matt Ryan had nowhere to go with that football. At least this time, the Falcons weren’t coming in undefeated. Well, they were, but they weren’t exactly 8-0. While we’re going into some numbers, it’s worth noting that Falcons coach Mike Smith is now 2-7 versus the Saints’ Sean Payton. On the bright side, Steven Jackson looked pretty effective, accumulating 122 yards with 16 touches overall.”
ESPN.com 4 2 “Matty Ice, what happened? Atlanta had possession in the last two minutes of each half, but failed to score. Matt Ryan was 4-of-9 with an interception in that span.”
CBSSports.com 7 3 “The offense moved the ball, but seemed to bog down in spots. The defense gave up way too many yards through the air.”
BleacherReport.com 8 7 “The Falcons don’t lack talent or coaching; they just need to get healthy. A limited Roddy White slowed the offense, which could be why they scored just 17 points. Matt Ryan was forced to go to Tony Gonzalez too often, and the Saints keyed on that to stop them from getting into the red zone on their final possession. The season is not over in Atlanta, or any city.”
SBNation.com 7 5 “The Falcons-Saints rivalry is one of my favorites in the NFL right now, one that actually features hard-fought football games. Even against last season’s historically inept Saints defense, these two teams split the series. That makes it hard to decide if the Saints defense is really as good as it was last week or if the Falcons offensive line was really as bad as it looked.”
NewsDay 4 3 “Last-minute comeback attempt falls inches short as Matt Ryan-to-Tony-Gonzalez doesn’t happen thanks to a much-improved Saints’ defensive effort.”
